La Viarte is located in Prepotto, only a few miles north of Cormons and less than 1.5 miles from the Slovenian border. These vines are situated in a range of 190 to 600 feet above sea level. The soil is composed of marl from the Eocene age as well as Sandstone. Since Alberto Piovan, the owner, acquired the winery in 2012, he has made it his priority to protect the environment within the winery’s border and beyond. Respect for nature is one of La Viarte’s primary principles, which is why the vineyard only grows grape varieties on 22 hectares of the 34 available, allowing the rest of the land to remain in its natural woodland state.
