history
The perfect union of two contrasting wine regions
Bosco del Merlo is located at the border of two areas: the Western part of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Eastern Veneto. Despite the vineyard being on level ground, it is composed of many differing terrains. On the Friuli side, there’s a skeletal pebble-rich soil that absorbs heat during the day while releasing it during the night, facilitating the ripening process. On the other side, in Veneto, we find a clay- calcareous soil called Caranto. The winery was founded in 1977 by Valentino Paladin, a pioneer in the production of wine through sustainable practices. The Paladin family still owns the winery and has maintained its founder’s mission, strongly focusing on improving sustainability and product quality.
